 Educational Requirements

  • Must be a medical graduate with MPH.

 Experience Requirements

  • S/He must have at least 15 years of experience with 5 years in medical administration.

 Job Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Director- Medical Services of STS Hospital Chittagong assures the effective and efficient delivery of the quality clinical care consistent with the Hospitals mission, vision and values. S/He is responsible for Planning, organizing, directing the medical staff division which includes Physician Relations, physician recruitment and retention. S/He provides leadership in affiliation, credentialing and Medical Staff Committees. S/He provides leadership in facilitating medical staff interactions with Administration and governing board. In addition, s/he develops and directs a performance improvement program that includes quality control, patient feedback mechanism, case management, infection control and Patient safety.
  • Supervise and provides leadership in managing all medical services, infection control and quality management programs of hospital,
  • Formulates and implements the policies and procedures while also Identifies strengths and weaknesses of the existing flow of operations within medical services,
  • Responsible for appropriate talent requirements related to medical services as per the identified clinical gaps.
  • S/He shall review the credentials of prospective talent required for employment, checking for competence and experience which are important qualities in achieving organizational goals,
  • S/He shall monitor and evaluate staff performance, checking for avoidable lapses, and taking measures to correcting them in line with organizational goals for the assigned areas,
  • Facilitates the way of effective and efficient communication channel with different stakeholders.

 Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes financial management within the department,
  • Participates in various committees in an active manner,
  • Guide to resolve significant issues in the committees meeting in a participatory and collaborative approach.

Technical Competencies

  • Understanding of and experience in quality management, risk management, utilization review and clinical outcome management programs,
  • Ability to blend clinical skills as a physician with administrative knowledge and understanding to achieve desired results,
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the integrated professional, technical and administrative principles and procedures of a medical clinic,
  • Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements,
  • Excellent communication, team building and persuasion skills in working with administrative and line personnel,
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long range strategy and goals,
  • Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures,
  • Knowledge of budgeting cost estimating and financial management.
